Rocky Mountain High,
Rocky Mountain National Park, these are the first thoughts to come to
mind when thinking of Colorado. No mountain range in the world is as
dramatic or beautiful as the Rocky Mountains. Whether you visit in
summer, fall or winter you will fall in love with the breathtaking
grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. In the summer and fall the mountains
beckon to discover their hidden treasures. In the Rocky Mountain
National Park you will be able to witness some of the beauty of the
mountains.
The entire park is above 7500 feet with sixty peaks rising above 12,000
feet and the highest peak towering to 14,259 ft. The park presents a
good challenge to hikers and climbers alike. If you are not into hiking
try driving over Trail Ridge Road with an elevation over 12,000 feet, it
is the highest continuous paved road in the United States. The Park’s
full time residents include elk, mule deer, moose, bighorn sheep, black
bears, and mountain lions.
Some of the prettiest wildflowers can be seen in the park, and at the
highest elevations some must complete their life cycle in just a few
short weeks. Fall brings a dramatic change of color to the park and it
is at this time of year that the Aspen trees turn golden and the Elk go
into rut .Another great time to visit. Winter is the quiet time of year
when the land is buried under a thick blanket of snow. Get out the snow
shoes or try cross country skiing for some of the most vigorous exercise
you can find. Rocky Mountain National Park is just one example of the
many National and State parks that Colorado has to offer.
Colorado offers some of the best snow skiing to be found in the United
States including Vail, Telluride, Beaver Creek, and Snowmass snow area
to name just a few that are available in Colorado.

blue ribbon trout streams.

to the solitude of the plains Colorado offers a wide assortment of
settlements from small towns that progress as we define it have left far
behind to fast growing large cities such as Denver and Colorado Springs.
